What is a Virtual Assistant?

Great question! Basically, a virtual assistant (or VA) is an independent contractor who helps businesses and individuals with administrative or technical assistance. Most of their work is done over the phone and online, hence the term "virtual." They tend to be internet savvy and have a wide range of office related skills in desktop publishing, information processing, and personal assitance. A virtual assistant can often save you money (up to 50%) because it is contract work, meaning you don't have to pay benefits as you would with a traditional employee.
